Die Flippers were a German Schlager-band formed in Baden-Württemberg, they existed from 1964 to 2011. The band sold a total of 24 gold and 5 platinum albums, making them the most successful German schlager band of all time. In 1969 Bernd Hengst and Franz Halmich wrote the song "Weine Nicht, Kleine Eva" (nowadays considered a classic), which was a huge hit in Germany. In 1970 the band releases "Sha La La, I Love You", a translation from the Dutch band The Shuffles, and this single is another huge hit in Germany. They scored an endless string of big hits, including "Mexico", "St. Tropez", "Mitternacht In Trinidad" and "Lotosblume", and all became gold or platinum. Eleven times Die Flippers won Germany's most important music award "Die Goldene Stimmgabel".
