The thinking person's Oasis (though they would probably hate the mention of that archrival Brit-pop band), Blur have had arguably the most illustrious and critically acclaimed rock career of 1990's England. Heartthrob vocalist/keyboard player Damon Albarn, bespectacled guitarist Graham Coxon, drummer Dave Rowntree, and bassist Alex James have a highly successful songwriting relationship that has produced dozens of diverse and perfectly crafted pop songs. The growth and maturity of their songs has followed a path that loosely resembles that of the Beatles -- from concise and catchy pop songs to more sophisticated, innovative experiments which involve other genres.
