In Need of You

Richard Williams wrote in Melody Maker: '...Googie would amaze everyone with a brand of vocal... which left every other ...singer...totally in the shade.' High Fidelity Magazine said, 'Her singing rushes out to you with nothing held back, clear as rain, agile as a dancer, and strong as earth.' At the time we recorded these tunes, we had had our fill of big productions such as the 'Shine The Light Of Love' album, on Columbia. We wanted to get closer to the impact and meaning of the songs. The stripped-down small combo format rocked harder. The musical inspiration came from a fusion of soul, gospel, R&B, pop, rock and latin, and Googie's awesome talent.
