The tragic story of sculptor Rodin and his muse, Camille Claudel. Camille becomes Rodin's apprentice and despite their difference in ages and much opposition, they fall in love. Their stormy love affair lasts for fifteen years.
Camille is Rodin's inspiration but she is also a talented sculptor in her own right and her passion for Rodin and for her own work are at odds with each other. Despite attempts to break free from his influence and make a name for herself in a male-dominated world, her ultimate escape is madness.
