La Symphonie Fantastique / Les Boread
Berlioz / Rameau
As performed and shot in 1993, this classical performance film marks a historical first: the premiere filmed record of a collaborative concert between the Berliner Philharmoniker symphony and legendary maestro Sir Simon Rattle, six years prior to that ensemble's decision to appoint Rattle as its principal conductor and artistic director. The two selections featured here are Hector Berlioz's 1830 Symphonie Fantastique and the ballet suite from Jean-Philippe Rameau's 1763 Les Boreades.
