Roger Waters is best known as the primary driving force and songwriter in Pink Floyd during the band's golden years with masterpiece after masterpiece, but he also has four impressive concept albums under his belt as a solo artist.
His previous concept album from 2005, Ca Ira , was an alternative opera album, but with the new album, Is This the Life We Really Want? he is back in the world of rock for the first time in 25 years. The album's main title and theme is a sharp commentary aimed at modern society and the uncertain times we find ourselves in. In this way, the new album is a natural extension of themes from the two Pink Floyd masterpieces, Animals and The Wall .
The lineup consists of: Roger Waters (vocals, bass), Nigel Godrich (arrangements, sound collages, keyboards, guitar), Gus Seyffert (bass, guitar, keyboards), Jonathan Wilson (guitar, keyboards), Joey Waronker (drums), Roger Manning (keyboards), Lee Pardini (keyboards), and Lucius (vocals) with Jessica Wolfe and Holly Proctor.
