Caecilie Norby
Cæcilie Norby is one of Denmark's most prominent vocalists and has, for more than four decades, left her mark on both Danish and international music. With her characteristic voice and ability to unite jazz, pop, rock, and Nordic music traditions, she has created a truly unique artistic identity. Today, she is considered among Europe's leading jazz singers and was also one of the first Scandinavian artists to be signed to the prestigious jazz label Blue Note Records.
Norby had her breakthrough in the 1980s with the groups Frontline and especially OneTwo, which became one of Denmark's most popular pop-rock duos. In 1995, she began her solo career in jazz, which became a breakthrough both domestically and internationally. Since then, she has collaborated with a long list of renowned musicians, including Lars Danielsson, Randy Brecker, Michael Brecker, Chick Corea, and Kurt Elling, and her releases have achieved great recognition in Japan, Germany, and the rest of Europe, among other places.
