John Fogerty | Legacy
Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Fogerty presents a 20-track collection featuring newly recorded versions of Fogerty’s most iconic songs from his time with Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR), including classics like "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Fortunate Son," and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain."
Fogerty now fully owns the rights to his CCR catalog, a process that took decades, and "Legacy" shows him reclaiming his own songs, labeling each rendition a 'John's Version'. The album was produced by Fogerty and his son Shane, with executive production by his wife Julie. A family project through and through, with his sons Shane and Tyler contributing guitar performances throughout the record, which also features musicians Matt Chamberlain (drums), Bob Malone (keyboards), Bob Glaub (bass), and Rob Stone (saxophone). The project was mixed by renowned engineer Bob Clearmountain.
"Legacy" serves as both a celebration of Fogerty’s enduring musical legacy and a testament to his regained artistic freedom. As Fogerty himself stated, “For most of my life I did not own the songs I had written. Getting them back changes everything. Legacy is my way of celebrating that - of playing these songs on my terms, with the people I love.”
