The influence of human activities on land has brought various global environmental changes. Particularly, the impacts on forest and soil resources are very severe. In developing countries like Ethiopia, the severity has aggravated. However, most of the time, the impacts are do not easily quantified due to lack of geographic information assessment tools and capacity. The author identified the past 36 years land use/land cover change and soil loss of Deneba Watershed, Arsi Highlands, Ethiopia. The study involved those have PhD and M. Sc in GIS & RS, Soil and Water conservation, and Forestry professions.
