The Facilitator
Jack Larsen
A newly-elected U. S. President, elected on the promise to
restrict oil exploration offshore and in other sensitive areas goes
back on his promise. In response, a group of America's largest oil
company CEOs, led by a mysterious and diabolical Saudi, want
higher oil prices more than they want more oil and orchestrates
a series of "accidents" involving offshore oil rigs, tankers and
other oil facilities in an attempt to cause a public backlash that
will force the President to stop new exploration and protect
their profits. The CEOs even fund a "front" environmental group
to manage the public outcry. But something about the plan is
not as it seems. The Facilitator keeps the reader in suspense
as it builds to a climax that is both surprising and ingenious.
