Pamela is fed up with her life. She's struggling against her weight, her alcohol consumption, her recently unemployed status, the menopause to name a few of her many imperfections.

On New Year's Day, after waking up with the hangover from hell and a strange man on her bedroom floor, Pamela is determined to improve herself.

As a New Year's Resolution and a bid to take control, she decides to write a list in which she aims to improve her life. A list that constantly defeats her.

Her life becomes more complicated when Tom - the man who came home with her on New Year's Eve - turns up in random places. Charming at first but Pamela's intuition tells her there's something not quite right with the recently separated and needy Tom.

Thrown into the mix are Pamela's band of slightly eccentric and somewhat disagreeable friends and family who take what she says with a pinch of salt, but when her best friend mysteriously disappears, Pamela begins to suspect her thoughts about Tom were correct.

Does Pamela need to get a grip on reality, or will she finally be proved right as Tom's behaviour begins to change and as his interest morphs into a dangerous and deadly obsession?
