The Epistle of James

The book of James is the most practical of all the letters in the New Testament and has been dubbed 'a Practical guide to Christian life and conduct for it lays out the ethics of Christian faith and is full of moral precepts and its main focus is on deeds. James takes time to 'exalt faith' and in essence saying "The faith you have is the faith you show" and works are results of faith and not the other way round. During times of trials, our faith is tested to be perfected and not lacking anything. As we listen to God's Word, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God(Romans 10:17), we are to put that faith into practice by and through our actions and not faith alone, for faith without deeds is dead. The faith we profess must also show up in the control of our tongue, our purity of character and the vibrancy in our prayer life.
