Throughout history, the hemp plant (botanical name: Cannabis Sativa) was used for various purposes such as the manufacture of rope, footwear, clothes and even paper products. The name hemp oil can also be called weed oil, cannabis oil or marijuana oil since they are all extracts of the same botanical family (cannabis) though of a different plant variety. Hemp is the last by-product of the cannabis plant. It contains significant portions of CBD which is being used for medicinal purposes. Though hemp and marijuana are different, they come from the same plant, Cannabis Sativa.
