Strange Fruit

This book offers a look into the folk imagination. It reproduces images of life in stories that entertain and educate. The stories dramatize the life crises individuals bring about for themselves and for others either through ignorance or immoral behaviors, the effects sometimes tragic, sometimes comic. Essentially, readers are entertained by these characters, human as well as animals, who constantly look for ways to overcome the limitations of their environments. Nevertheless, either pathetically or humorously, these characters find themselves confronting antagonists that are not willing to yield to their wishes.
