Crucifixion The Substitute

Jesus knows the moment has arrived. The moment when he must take the sins of the whole world onto himself as though he had committed them all personally. The moment when he lets Satan punish him in our place. Impossible? Can he can do it? When he's so weak that he's nearly dead? Especially then! Especially then.... First his robe. Aggghhhhh! His blood vessels re-open, and the flames of the tormenting furnace raging within him leap out. Merciless. Ruthless. Unforgiving. Jesus' head reels. He rocks back and forth uneasily. Next his sandals. Then his tunic Jesus is abruptly shoved to the ground. His back rubs against the dirt, the sticks the stones pushing into him. Agghhhhh! "Wait! Here's something for you. It helps deaden pain." It burns his cracked lips and he turns his head. No. Take it away, Jesus whispers. "He's crazy! He'll go insane from the cramps if he doesn't take this pain killer." No, nothing can be missed. This is the only chance the world will ever have. Everything must be felt in full awareness and full force. Everything....
