This early work by Henry De Vere Stacpoole was originally published in 1910 and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. 'The Drums of War' is a novel set in Europe at wartime. Henry De Vere Stacpoole was born on April 9th 1863 in Kingstown, Ireland. After finishing his education, Stacpoole travelled widely, taking up a job as a ship's doctor. His time spent at sea undoubtedly inspired many stories and characters in his later writing.
