Here and There

Immigration has become one of the most divisive issues in America. Politicians shout at each other instead of coming up with solutions. Immigration has become a story of borders and caravans and never-ending walls; it is no longer about people. Here and There tries to remedy that. In this book, eighteen teenagers give an honest and unsparing portrait of what it is like to be an immigrant in America. These students are documented and undocumented. They are from Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Some of them consider America to be their home. Others can't decide what home really means to them. They are from here and there and everywhere in between. Their stories tell a larger story about our nation - what it has become and what it can be.
