Hunters of the Mist

The time is the distant future. A mining ship has returned from an extended tour of the outer reaches and finds the Earth is all but destroyed. Some sort of cataclysm has descended and the sun itself no longer shines upon the land. The crew of the Canter discovers a way to clear the air, to allow in sunlight, but a suffocating mist still covers most of the land, a mist that houses creatures of horror who seek to dominate all that come near them.




Small pockets of humanity remain, but it is like the stone age. Jack Blake undertakes an arduous program, one that runs for decades, slowly educating the primitive people to perform the most basic tasks of civilization. And through it all, the Gregorians, the witch hunters track into the mist and free the land from control by the aliens that have taken residence in it.




But questions get raised. Are the aliens interlopers, or have they been here all the time. Are the humans encroaching on THEIR rights? When a natural telepath turns up, doorways to understanding begin to open.
