Never can we underestimate the power of the sound in music. Never can we underestimate how the power of music can be so uplifting, setting the mood, and dictating the atmosphere positive or negative. The story of Sound To the Mood takes place in a small town called Desertville where five musicians in their late teens play music for fun, their entertainment, and enjoyment. They called themselves The Riffs. Being young and full of zeal, the five musicians had no idea what their future had in store nor did they know the new role they would serve in the community. As the musicians were playing and rehearsing on a usual 106 degree, hot and humid summer day in an old wine cellar, only one person, Emerald Johnson, owner of a "Clean" night club, was in search for new talent to perform in his club. Lately, crowds nightly, were showing up and coming to the club very rowdy, frustrated, agitated, opinionated, easily annoyed, dis-satisfied, and even a little violent. Frankly, they weren't exited. Roaming around town, draped in a 5-piece suit sweating ferociously, he believed he was hearing a sound, an attractive musical sound. For some strange reason, amongst all the noise of sirens, crowds of people, and automobile horns sounding in the town, he miraculously is the only person who could hear and recognize the genre of music and the sound. Still hearing the sound, Johnson landed in a nearby bar to cool off chanting and ranting, "Do you hear that musical sound? Do you hear that sound?" he still asked. Eager and in determined to find that sound, that curiosity led Johnson to The Riffs.
