Star Mouth

Two characters, a husband and wife, write a novel in their apartment. While gathering material for their novel--including sunrises, sunsets, the Moon, the stars, a rainbow, thunder, lightning, science of evolution and the Universe, flower blooms, birds, insects, etc.--the husband and wife also travel on many adventures to many other planets throughout the galaxies. Their adventures on many other planets are metaphorical and philosophical. The novel remains unclear as to whether the man and woman's adventures on other planets are reality, a series of dreams, or simply part of their novel. After a few trips to planets billions of light years away, including meeting a metaphysical poet and drinking beers infused with comet dust, the two characters discuss the innumerable stars and their meaning with the woman's mom, and man's dad and granddad. They witness a red sunrise rainbow, snowflakes falling the morning of leap year day, the entire sky breathing lightning, and Easter sunrise. The novel is fast-paced, even with dense sentences and metaphors about the meaning of life, thoughts of God, and questions about the reality and purpose of the Universe. The husband and wife's relationship grows as the novel progresses. They travel around the Universe and beyond, and spend much time in their apartment. They discuss many interesting, philosophical, ideas.
