Me vs the CIA

My engineering work at Space Technology Corporation was highly classified. It was ranked SCI (Sensitive Compartmented Information) the highest-level clearance awarded in the aerospace community. Only after an extensive background investigation was an employee cleared at this level. My lover of three years Chris, came to work at Space Technology Corporation shortly after we met. He had a degree in architecture but worked as a facility manger. He was submitted for the same level clearance as I. I was one of his references. A Department of Defense Investigator came to see me and I was very open about Chris' and my relationship. Within days I received phone calls from friends at Space Technology Corporation telling me that the same Investigator had been to see them and asked if I was gay. Their responses were mixed. Some said yes; others refused to answer. My world came apart very quickly. My multiple clearances were revoked. I lost my position as department manager and was looking at losing my job. After three years of appeals, visits to Langley, Virginia for a polygraph test, I made the decision to take the CIA to court to recover my clearances.
