Nano Technology in Textiles

Controlling of environmental impact of home laundering detergents has become a growing problem in recent years; also increasing awareness of general sanitation, contact disease transmission and personal protection has led to the development of fabrics with self-cleaning and antimicrobial properties. The present book aims at the production of self-cleaning and bacterial resistant viscose fabrics, via the application of some polymer coatings and nano metal oxides. The purpose of applying some polymer coating binders on viscose fabrics is to enhance metal chelation of two nano metal oxides namely nano titanium dioxide to impart stain-removal ability, and nano zinc oxide for the purpose of imparting fabrics with antibacterial ability. The coated viscose fabrics were applied in sportswear and introducing its quality clothing production. Functional properties of each product are also introduced.
