Charter pilot Grant Beecham was living out his dream of flying. He felt he had it all, including a wonderful wife and daughter. Through his work he and his family meet and become friends with members of the famous rock band, Thunder. In the midst of supreme happiness tragedy strikes. He loses his daughter, then his wife. Ultimately his job as a charter pilot falls through. Grant does his best to rebuild his life after all the turmoil but can't seem to find a satisfactory path. Looking for a brighter future, Grant takes a job as a pilot for an airline in Central America, then moves on to South America to once again fly charter planes. More difficulties befall him when he is kidnapped by rebels and forced to fly drugs for weapons. Befriended by indigenous natives, he makes a daring escape, taking many with him. While in the middle of all the chaos he falls in love with Izzy who helped him escape. With her by his side he begins the process of healing and moving forward while forging a new life on the Amazon River, a life he dreamed existed.
