The Village of Melton-Uppbury is normally a tranquil and peaceful place to live by the sea, in rural Lincolnshire. But there seems to be a spell on the village and the peace of the locality is often disrupted when locals see and hear unexplainable things. However life go's on, and the village spring fete is opened by Charlie Dimmock a friend of the Rev Rosemary Fitter. St Guthlac's, the village church is under threat of closure, but the villagers young and old with the help of a young theology student fight to save it.
