Dying to Overcome Sin

When a person turns from his sin and trusts in Jesus he begins a new life. The new life of following Jesus includes the expectation of gaining power and the victory over sin. Victory over sin comes as a result of the work that God does through the new birth and the work that the follower of Jesus does by God's grace through faith. Salvation is described in the Bible as dying with Jesus and being raised in newness of life. It is faith in this new life that provides power to overcome sin. Also if the follower of Jesus is to overcome sin he must put to death those things in his life that lead him into sin. This volume examines the life and death issues associated with salvation gaining the victory over sin in practical ways.
