La Brown
Based on real people, whose names and situations have been changed for their protection, Evelyn follows the journeys of prior abuse survivors as they travel to rescue Evelyn from a potentially deadly situation. Together with Sarge, her neighbor, they coordinate to remove her from the situation and into a place of safety. While the rescue is in progress, Evelyn endures even more abuse at the hands of her husband. Evelyn is a fictional read that chronicles just some of what abuse survivors encounter. While not everyone's situation is the same, it seeks to show the reader that it can be stopped, rescue can happen, and healing can occur, and lists resources at the end.
