Blame it on the drink. Maybe if he hadn't of been drunk, Frank Swanson wouldn't have found himself strapped to a chair being beaten upon by demons. Or maybe he wouldn't have let another demon talk him into starting an investigation that put him in that chair in the first place. Of course, it could have been the fact that a year ago he was killed by a demon and resurrected four hours later by the woman he loves, the love of his life who sold her soul to resurrect him and now resides in Hell for her good deed. Either way, as a Watcher-a Nephilim demon hunter-its Frank's job to get into tight scrapes with demons and other monsters. This time though, Frank's investigation into a demon gang who steal human souls, propels him headlong into a deep conspiracy that threatens to enslave the whole of humanity forever. As an independent operator and no longer in the employ of the Watcher High Council, Frank and a select group of Watcher friends must work to unravel the conspiracy that threatens to bring down the city, meanwhile trying not to get brought down themselves as they take on both sides in an effort to stop the killing and destruction in the city. If that wasn't enough for Frank, he is also hell-bent on saving the love of his life from her imprisonment in Hell-and that's if he doesn't end up in Hell first himself, of course.
